1. The service
Portion is a habit application that encourages daily Bible reading, including optional features that help you limit access to distracting applications until your daily reading is complete. Portion is a self-discipline tool that you configure and control. You may disable it at any time; emergency access is always available.
2. Your account
You must provide accurate information and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 13 years old.
3. Subscriptions and billing
Premium is offered as an annual subscription (with a free trial where indicated), a monthly subscription, and family tiers. In the Portion iOS app, purchases and automatic renewals are handled by Apple through your App Store account, and Apple manages billing and refunds under the App Store's policies; you can manage or cancel anytime in Settings → your name → Subscriptions. On the web, payments are processed by Stripe and, except where a refund is required by applicable law, purchases are final and non-refundable. Subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price until cancelled, and Premium remains active until the end of the paid period. By subscribing you expressly acknowledge the recurring charge and this policy.
4. Trials
If a free trial is offered, you will be charged when the trial ends unless you cancel before it ends.
5. Groups and covenant features
Group features share limited activity (display name, daily completion, streak, covenant activity) with members of groups you join. The covenant feature lets a partner you choose hold an override code for certain actions; you always retain emergency access to your device and can leave a group or end a covenant at any time (ending a covenant may be visible to your group).
6. Scripture content
Bible text is provided from the World English Bible (public domain) and other licensed translations where indicated. Scripture is provided for personal, non-commercial use within the app.
7. Acceptable use
Do not misuse the service: no unauthorized access, scraping, reverse engineering, interfering with other users, or using the service to harass anyone (including via nudges or override features).
8. No guarantees
Portion supports a reading habit; we make no guarantees about outcomes, spiritual or otherwise. The service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
9. Termination
You may stop using Portion and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
10. Changes
We may update these terms; material changes will be announced in the app. Continued use after changes means acceptance.
